U.S. Consul General Travels in Southern Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad--U.S. Consul General Cornelis M. Keur returned from a five-day exploration of Southern Andhra Pradesh on Friday, October 9, 2009. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about the industry and agriculture of Andhra Pradesh, as well as visiting educational institutions and cultural sites.
During his visit, Consul General Keur highlighted the potential of Indo-U.S. cooperation in these fields and the importance the United States accords to its strategic partnership with India.
Among his stops the Consul General visited Amar Raja Batteries and the Apache-Adidas factory in Tirupati; Sri Venkateswara and Acharya Nagarjuna Universities; and NRI Medical College and Nellore Chamber of Commerce.
“These visits gave me greater insight into the richness of Andhra Pradesh’s human capital and ingenuity. I told those that I met that the United States values its relationship with India, and looks to strengthen ties for the betterment of both the American and Indian people.”
