Visit USA Road Show and Travel Trade Seminar
Focuses on Travel Destinations in America

The U.S. Commercial Service, part of the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad, is promoting travel and tourism through a road show that brings select U.S. tourist destinations to Hyderabad.  The Commercial Service is partnering with the newly formed Visit USA Committee – India, which is group of Mumbai-based U.S. travel organizations that share the common goal of promoting travel to the U.S.

The Visit USA Committee and the Commercial Service have successfully organized road shows in Coimbatore, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune as part of their efforts to promote U.S. tourism among Indians. On August 22 the road show made its debut in Hyderabad.

“I am excited to see a number of America’s great tourist destinations here in Hyderabad,” said Katherine Dhanani, Consul General, U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad. “These road shows are providing an important link between America’s top tourist spots and India’s travel industry professionals. They build interest in the U.S. and ultimately facilitate travel among India’s growing tourist population.”

Companies representing New York City, Virginia, USA Grand Tours, Marriott, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Choice Hotels International participated in the road show to promote their destinations and facilities.

Promoting U.S. tourism is part of President Obama’s National Export Initiative. In 2011, the United States welcomed more than 660,000 visitors from India.
