U.S. Commercial Service and VCCI Inaugurate First American Business Corner in A.P.
The U.S. Commercial Service (USCS), the trade promotion agency of the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, partnered with the Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vishakhapatnam (VCCI) to open the first American Business Corner (ABC) in Andhra Pradesh at Visakhapatnam.
The ABC will be housed at the VCCI office at Siripuram Junction, Visakhapatnam.
The purpose of this initiative by the U.S. Commercial Service is to reach out to the business community in second and third tier cities where the U.S. Commercial Service does not have a physical presence.
“Through collaborations, such as the American Business Corner, we hope to strengthen our commercial connections, making it easier for businesses in India and the United States to connect. Both of our countries can benefit from sharing resources and expertise,” said Ms. Katherine Dhanani, Consul General U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad, at the inauguration.
She added, “There has been incredible growth in India’s second and third-tier cities, like Vishakhapatnam, and an American Business Corner will make it easier for Indian companies to work with their counterparts in America.”
The ABC will serve as a guide to American business opportunities. The ABC will provide information on American companies, offer opportunities to Indian importers in Visakhapatnam to learn about USCS services and programs and provide information about upcoming business opportunities for Indian and American companies. The ABC will serve as the primary point of contact in Visakhapatnam for the U.S. Commercial Service office.
