The United States has a longstanding relationship with Osmania University. In 1964 the U.S. constructed the erstwhile American Studies Research Center (ASRC) on land provided by the university. For more than 30 years, this unique bilateral institution served Indian and American scholars as one of the world’s largest research libraries on international relations and the study of the United States. Today, as the Osmania University Center for International Programs, the facility continues to manage the library, conference and meeting rooms and scholars’ guest rooms under its broad mandate.
