American expert on U.S. foreign policy in South Asia visits Hyderabad
Scholars and researchers in Hyderabad had the opportunity to hear the views of independent American expert on U.S. foreign policy in South Asia, Dr. Rodney Jones, October 19 and 20, 2009. Dr. Jones, President of Policy Architect’s International, Virginia, fielded questions on issues such as U.S. aid to Pakistan and the U.S. – China relationships vis-à-vis India. His lecture tour took him to Dr. Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute, Osmania University Center for International Programs, Andhra Pradesh Police Academy and Maulana Azad National Urdu University. Throughout Dr. Jones rebutted some well accepted myths such as the U.S. created the Taliban, and argued for strengthened Indo-U.S. relationship. The U.S. Department of State Office of International Information Programs sponsored Dr. Jones visit to Hyderabad, part of his all India tour. The program aimed to encourage discussion on topics of concern to both the U.S. and India, such as terrorism, nuclear weapons, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
