Consul General Cornelis M. Keur on Thursday inaugurated the Innova-Stanford Conclave 2009 on the occasion of the second anniversary of Innova Children’s Heart Hospital.  Before inaugurating the conclave Consul General Keur and his wife, Ms. Sommay Keur, visited the Innova Children’s Heart Hospital where they interacted with children who were undergoing treatment.

In his message to the gathering, Consul General Keur congratulated the Innova Hospital and HeartLink, an American NGO, for their noble work of providing excellent cardiac care for children.  He reminded that such programs were not only useful for Indians but also beneficial for Americans as they involve sharing knowledge and experience.

He said, “Exchange of technical knowledge between Innova Hospitals and Stanford University under the aegis of HeartLink would go a long way in helping children with heart ailments.”

The Consul General also praised the students from Andhra Pradesh who went to the United States for higher studies for their good performance not only in technical and medical fields but also in other areas.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide affordable heart surgeries for children was signed in the Consul General’s presence by Innova Children’s Heart Hospital and Children’s HeartLink of the United States.  The MoU would ensure training programs for the doctors, nurses and para medical staff in the field of pediatric cardiac surgery to enhance the quality of care.   Dr. K S Murthy, Chairman and Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Innova Childrens Heart Hospital said, that the MoU would also assist in treating the poor patients.
