Keur called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy in his chambers at the Secretariat on Thursday. Consul General Keur congratulated Dr. Reddy on the spectacular win not only in Andhra Pradesh but also the Congress party’s performance in the recent General Elections. The Consul General also conveyed to the Chief Minister that the Consulate General will be happy to work with the State Government on various programs and objectives that will bring our two nations together. |
“We are looking forward to a long term relationship with the State Government to push trade and cultural ties between the United States of America and Andhra Pradesh,” Consul General Keur said during the interaction with Dr. Reddy.
Dr. Reddy said that the resounding victory was a big relief as the economy was reviving fast after the formation of the new Government. “Though not much impact was felt due to the economic downturn, India in the next couple of months will be completely out of the recession in the few sectors that felt it,” the Chief Minister said.
Consul General Keur also enquired about the State Government’s agenda for the next five years and the assistance that the Consulate can provide to the State Government. Replying to this Dr. Reddy said that he would like to Consulate to help bring in as much manufacturing industry as possible in the State.
